You're good at your job. But are you doing what you really want?

Many IT professionals are excellent at what they do — but feel trapped in activities and situations they don't like.

I help you get clear on what you really want— and make sure you take the right actions to move forward.

The Competence Trap

You've built a reputation. You solve problems. Your team relies on you.
But somewhere along the way, you realized:

"This isn't the life I want to be building"

What You've Built What You Actually Want
Expertise Autonomy
Promotion Purpose
Respect Connection
Remote Working Belonging
Technical Mastery Freedom to Choose

The gap between these topics can be real,
but it's fixable.

Does Any of This Sound Familiar?

These are some situations I help my clients solve every day.
And I should know, because I've been there too.

"Great Engineer, Wrong Direction"

You're excellent at your job, but you're building someone else's vision. You might find this a difficult question to ask:

What do I actually want to build myself?

"Promoted and Drowning"

You've got the title, the salary, the respect. Now you're in meetings all day, disconnected from the work you loved, and unsure if this is actually progress.

"Good at Work, Bad Everywhere Else"

Your job is consuming your time and energy. You're performing well, but you're isolated, disconnected from what's real, and unsure how to break the pattern.

"Hit the Ceiling"

You're maxed out at your level, and the next step doesn't excite you. You're wondering:

Is this it? Is there another path?

What Past Clients Say

"Through several sessions, I got closer to my real goal and learned to know myself better. I was caught in a storm of developments where I felt I had little control. Arno pulled me out of the chaos, helping me gain perspective.

With clarity came better-defined, concrete goals. Arno held up a mirror when I needed it—essential to keep me from getting swept away by daily chaos.

I regained control and could let go more easily. I became more aware of my actions and took charge of what I wanted to achieve.

I made tough decisions and took the time needed. Focusing on becoming happier helped me carry the weight.

This journey brought me where I am now. I've let go of the past and made a fresh start with a new employer in a completely different role.

I determined what my new job and position needed to offer for me to stay happy.

Though I no longer enjoy coaching from Arno, I continue to benefit from what I learned and that keeps me balanced."

Together we discussed goals and outcomes, and he helped identify the areas of improvement, the actions I should take and also helped me clarify my thoughts about which person I want to become."

Nasri

"Your pointed questions made me reflect on who I truly am and what matters to me.

That realization helped me figure out where I stand today and what I value in a work setting.

This process has supported me in making intentional career decisions and in confidently maintaining my personal boundaries."

"Your presence and questions were invaluable. Thank you so much. It meant a lot to me.

Being able to work through things together helps me recognize and acknowledge the steps I've taken. I'm really grateful for this coaching, it was incredibly enlightening."

The 3 Dimensions of Real Change

You don't need a one-size-fits-all program.
You need coaching that meets you where you are.

1. Purpose and Belonging

-The Foundation-

You're excellent at what you do. But excellent for whom? This is where we get clear on your values, cut through the noise of what you "should" want, and figure out what actually belongs to you.

Before you can build anything, we need to know what's actually blocking you.

  • Are your values aligned with what you're doing?
Your work, your role, your organization — do they match who you are?

  • What internal friction are you carrying?
Self-doubt, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, old beliefs holding you back?

  • Are you connected or isolated?
Do you feel safe with the people around you, or are you carrying this alone?

  • What misalignment are you accepting without realizing it?
    The handbrakes you're driving with.

Many IT professionals are excellent at what they do but fundamentally misaligned — with their boss, their company's values, or even themselves. We don't ignore that. We name it, understand it, and decide what to do about it.

2. Ambition and Achievement

-The Concrete Plan-

Dreams without a plan is just frustrating. Here we translate what you actually want into a roadmap — concrete goals, milestones, with flexibility built in — now you can start building. I hold you accountable and on-track.

Once you're clear on what matters and what's in the way, we get concrete.

  • Define your actual vision.
Not the one you think you should have — the one you actually want.

  • Build a concrete roadmap.
With specific milestones, not vague intentions.

  • Develop the flexibility to stay the course.
When life changes, your purpose and direction won't collapse with it.

This is where "I want more" becomes "This is what I'm building, and this is how I get there."

3. Productivity+

-The Operating System-

Information overload kills momentum. This dimension is about refining how you capture, organize, and act upon information that matters — letting your tools work for you instead of drowning you, while protecting the time and energy you need to move forward.

You can have clarity and a perfect plan. But if you're overwhelmed by information, losing tasks, and running on fumes, the plan stays stuck on paper.

  • How you capture, structure, and access information.
So it serves you instead of burying you.

  • What tools actually work for your brain.
Not what everyone else uses; what works for you.

  • How to protect your time and attention.
So you have energy for what actually matters.

This is about building a process and system that let you live the life you planned instead of drowning in the noise.

It All Comes Together

The three dimensions are lenses through which we craft your path.
Immediate and flexible, while structured and purpose-aligned.

Some clients arrive burnt out on their current role — we start spending most time in Purpose and Belonging, because until that's addressed, nothing will work. Others know exactly what they want but can't see the path — we focus most on Ambition and Achievement. Some have vision and clarity, but can't execute while drowning in chaos — Productivity+ becomes the focus point.

We diagnose together. I listen and challenge you, to see where you're stuck and where you can grow. We define, change and refine. We focus our efforts where they matter the most.

Your Life, Your Story!

Meet Your Coach — Arno

Hi, I'm Arno Mühren, a certified coach with 6+ years experience helping IT professionals overcome their challenges and achieve their desired goals.

Before that, I spent 12 years as an IT professional doing exactly what I was "supposed" to do — I was good at it. I was respected. I was comfortable.

But I was also unhappy and I felt trapped.

I'd regularly ask myself what I really wanted to do. The answers came to me through observation and questioning.

As a result, I was able to turn my life around to work in alignment with my strengths and who I am.

Now I help IT professionals find their purpose and take aligned action.

During my in career in IT, I noticed people came to me for personal advice, for my view, both related to their work life and their personal life. I saw how some of my colleagues used my questions and advice and changed tangible parts of their lives as a result.

It was incredible for me to realize that I could have such a positive influence over people. This  then became a highly motivating factor to me. I naturally coached people. It was after that realization that I decided to formalize my path towards coaching and do what I feel is my mission in life.  Helping people become free to choose the life they really want.

I now work as a coach for IT professionals through Free Coachee and as a burn-out for Inuka since 2020 — and I have not had one single day of regret, I've been loving it ever since.
